Hi, I’m Chay!

With over 8 years of experience supporting teens and adults through their journey with addiction, and more than a decade helping little ones (5 and up) understand big feelings like anger, I bring a whole-hearted, down-to-earth approach to healing. I’m also passionate about creating safe, empowering spaces for folks with unique developmental needs and those recovering from neglect or abuse. Whether you’re just starting your journey or looking for continued support, I’m here to meet you where you’re at—with compassion, creativity, and a whole lot of care.

I’m currently in the process of becoming covered under insurance plans to help make support even more accessible.

Hello!

My name is Rachel and I am the owner and a counsellor behind The Hive Mental Health Services!

I started The Hive on the foundational pillars of:

-Affordability: aimed at breaking down the financial barrier for community members, by: offering sessions $20-$50 cheaper, giving discounted sessions to moms who are on mat leave or SAHM, and working on a sliding scale.

-Flexibility: focused on offering appointment times and delivery methods that allow for all clients to access mental health services, ex: video, text sessions, days, evening, and weekends.

-Relateability: we don’t cookie cut here, i know that your counselling experience needs to be tailored to your needs, wants, and world outlook. That’s why i use a combination of modalities like: CBT, DBT, talk therapy, somatic, person centred, and solution focused, to help you achieve your mental health goals in a way that feels realistic to use in the day to day.

ABOUT ME:

I’m a mom to three wonderful boys, through motherhood i have gained experience with: -Postpartum depression, postpartum anxiety, and postpartum rage. -Parenting a child with ADHD -Parenting a child with a lower limb amputation -Breaking intergenerational cycles -among much more!

Hi there! I’m Brittney Mitchell — a Registered Social Worker (BSW) with a big heart and eight years of experience walking alongside people through life’s twists and turns.

Whether you’re feeling stuck, overwhelmed, misunderstood, or just trying to figure things out, I’m here to help. I work with adults, youth, couples, and seniors, supporting folks through all kinds of life obstacles: trauma, anxiety, depression, grief, ADHD, PTSD, BPD, postpartum changes, autism, health transitions, and even the big (and sometimes messy) emotions like anger.

I take a trauma-informed, client-centered approach- meaning your story, your pace, and your goals always come first. I pull from evidence-based practices like CBT, DBT, ACT, motivational interviewing, mindfulness, and solution-focused therapy to find what fits you best.

Before jumping into mental health and addictions counselling, I spent six years in disability services and program coordination (including lots of group therapy work!). I’ve also been deeply involved in community-based mental health and corrections work - it’s work that has truly shaped the compassionate lens I bring to every session.

Sessions with me are virtual, so we can connect from wherever you’re comfy. My aim? A safe, supportive, and totally non-judgmental space where we can explore what’s going on and find real, doable ways to help you move forward.

Let’s make life a little lighter — together.
